TSG History

In 1988, when the Iron Curtain was still standing and rap dominated with Run-DMC, Rakim, and NWA, extreme sports were still developing. It was in this context that TSG was born, a brand created by skaters to offer technical protective equipment. They launched their first knee pads in 1988 and their first helmet in 1990.

Today, more than 30 years later, TSG remains independent, rider-led, and dedicated to making the world's finest, Swiss-designed protective gear.

During these years, it has created products for different sports:

  • Chronology-
  • 1990 TSG presents its first skate helmet (Regular Helmet)
  • 1994 TSG introduces its first BMX and MTB specific pads
  • 1996 Tony Hawk, Rune Glifberg, Buster Halterman, Mike Vallely and Ryan Nyquist: TSG's skateboarding and BMX team is nothing short of impressive.
  • 1998 TSG launches the world's first certified hard-shell skateboard and BMX helmet.
  • 1999 Launch of the Tony Hawk Pro Model helmet. The Birdman puts its quality to the test in a very strange way when it lands on his head in a loop. The film crew expects him to be in a coma, but Tony is fine. He thanks us by signing this helmet and sending it back to us.

  • 2005 TSG begins sponsoring snowboarders. The first team drivers are Eero Ettala, Gian Simmen and Iouri Podladtchikov
  • The Evolution helmet is TSG's first custom-fit half-shell helmet, setting new standards in fit and comfort.
  • 2007 TSG launches its first in-mold half-shell helmet: Weighing in at 300g, the Superlight is the lightest half-shell helmet ever.
  • 2008 TSG collaborates with the non-profit organization Skateistan
  • 2010 TSG introduces the Kraken helmet, the world's first helmet that flexes and conforms to the head.
  • 2012 The Kraken helmet, TSG's first helmet with MIPS technology, wins the EUROBIKE award
  • TSG introduces its first line of soft foam protection
  • Sam Pilgrim crowned FMB World Champion with a TSG Evolution helmet
  • 2014 TSG starts with D3O protection foam in its protection
  • The Dawn Flex is the most comfortable certified full-face helmet
  • 2017 TSG starts with Arti-Lage protective foam in its protection
  • TSG presents its MTB clothing line in collaboration with team riders Timo Pritzel, Amir Kabbani and Sam Pilgrim.
  • 2019 TSG launches new enduro mountain bike helmet: The Reach Helmet
  • In 2020, TSG launched the Centinela Full-Face Downhill Helmet in collaboration with helmet designer Stephane Dion.
  • 2021 Daniel Dhers (VEN) wins silver at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in BMX Freestyle wearing a TSG Meta helmet. The Games were held in the summer of 2021 due to the corona situation.
